REGATTA 2022
The 2022 Regatta is fast approaching and is happening on Saturday 27 August and Sunday 28 August.
The Regatta programme is attached, (it still might get tweaked), but you will notice that there is registration at 1000hrs followed by a briefing on Saturday and 1030hrs followed by a briefing on Sunday.
Sailing instructions which you should read are available here:
https://brsc.site/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/BRSC-Sailing-Instructions.pdf
Don’t forget your picnic and personal refreshments for both days.
Anyone willing to help with the social side of things, please email Ross McGinn, Social Secretary – social@brsc.org.uk. We will need volunteers to help with a free bar on Saturday and tea on Sunday. Any cake contributions would be much appreciated for the tea on Sunday.
To make the sailing days work we need volunteers. If you are available to help in any way with the regatta we need the following:
Starting – brilliantly, Ginna Gayner has already volunteered to run the platform for the Saturday with Jay Devonshire as Race Officer. Gerard Downes has volunteered for the Sunday with the help of Miranda Knowles and Sarah Karsten but we are still looking for the following:
Beach Master – 1 x per day
Crucially, we need Safety Boat drivers and crew – 12 x per day.
The club has 2 safety boats but we need 4 more. Would anyone be willing to lend their vessel? One of these needs to be a RIB for the 2 days as the starting boat for the Lasers at the Lepe start.
If you are up for volunteering for the safety rota or for offering your boat, please contact Sam Van Holte – safety@brsc.org.uk
Bill Vance has kindly agreed to help me as the ‘results guru’ as the information on the races comes in.
Once I know the forecast, I’ll be in touch nearer the time.
If you won silver last year, please make sure we have it back for more prize giving this year.
I look forward to seeing everyone soon for some great competition and fun!

Sailing Secretary
