Junior Sailing

Wednesday 24th July to Sunday 28th July 2024

Lets hope that 2024 will yield some wonderful sailing on the river. Please let June Kirkman know as soon as possible if your child wishes to sail. Due to the space available in Rope Factory field the groups are restricted to 12 children, older children who have already covered some of the material can be slotted into groups where children have dropped out.
If you have a child that would like to take part in the Junior Sail Training this year, please contact June Kirkman by 20 March. Registration forms should be completed and sent to June Kirkman by 1 April 2024.

Please note that a completed registration form does not guarantee a place. Places will be confirmed when payment has been received and all registration forms have been submitted. If you do not have a boat please try to borrow one somehow! All boat owners must have their boat in Factory Field together with all its equipment before the event. Please make sure that everything is complete and in good working order. For parents new to Oppies, we will try and organise a preparation day. Click here for a manual with Oppie equipment.

The combination for the shed lock and the field lock can be obtained by emailing June Kirkman . Volunteers with strimmers to cut grass (depending on weather) please volunteer. Please ensure you have the right gear for all conditions:sun hat sun cream plenty to drink sailing shoes or wet suit boots (not flip flops or crocs)life jacket (not self inflating)a towel and spare change of clothes something warm and a waterproof jacket. Starting time is at TBA in the morning and a programme for the rest of the week with picnic details etc will be emailed to you nearer the time. Bring a picnic lunch on the first day. Parents will be needed to help with rescue boat/shore duties/social event and I would be grateful if volunteers could contact June Kirkman .
