Race Report by Peter Hayward-Broomfield A sunny day with a very stiff breeze from the Southwest and some bracing gusts from lord knows where. Five brave scows, mandatory reefs, set off at a cracking rate; C to starboard, Withies to Port, Blackwater to Starboard, Gins to Starboard (gybe mark) then an exhilarating run to Pigs another gybe then across to North – twice. No one came to grief. A close finish with Jay Devonshire just pipping John and Lindy Morgan, Mike Doherty, then Red Johnson with Sam Van Holte in hot pursuit. Fortunately no dramas but Vova and Bill O-Y providing safety just in case. Ginna starting with Lucy on flags. Excellent cake and tea to follow courtesy of June and Miranda.
