Latest Scow News and Newtown Creek Rally
It was another windy day on the river last Saturday, so much so that sadly the race to Bucklers Wood had to be cancelled. However, Carol and John Hackman put on a wonderful spread which lifted spirits and our heartfelt thanks to them for their kind hospitality.
We are starting to put together plans for the Newtown Creek Rally which is scheduled for 9th July. As you will appreciate this takes a lot of organising and relies upon an army of volunteers.
So we can finalise our plans, please use this email link asap either to register to race or to volunteer for safety boat duties. So far, three kind members have volunteered so far. We will be escorted by 3 safety boats with Humbug as the ‘mother ship’.
Much more detail will follow in due course but in the meantime we need to assess likely numbers of sailors and safety volunteers so please register.
NEXT RACE Inchmery Hard: 2 July 1230. Earlier than advertised!
Starting Platform Gerry Marling-Roberts
Race Officer Oli Stanley
Safety Boat Team Charles Nicholson & Sophie Stanley
Refreshments Kindly hosted by Benji and Christian Scrimgeour.
